We enjoyed an amazing time at the City Summit interviewing Mark Victor Hansen and Crystal Dyer Hansen, Jennifer McGill, Noel Lee, Vicky Schettini, and Kara Scott on what it means to them to be a Spiritual Rockstar.
Mark Victor Hansen and Crystal Dyer Hansen – “You control your future, your destiny. What you think about comes about. Put your future in good hands – your own.” Mark Victor Hansen is probably best known as the co-author for the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series and brand, setting world records in book sales, with over 500 millions books sold. Mark also worked his way into a worldwide spotlight as a sought-after keynote speaker, and entrepreneurial marketing maven, creating a stream of successful people who have created massive success for themselves through Mark’s unique teachings and wisdom. With his endearing charismatic style, Mark captures his audience’s attention as well as their hearts. Mark finds his greatest joy now, in his soul-mate relationship with his wife, best friend, and partner, Crystal Dwyer Hansen. Jennifer McGill – With over 30 years of showbiz under her belt, she now tells the stories of her rollercoaster ups and downs like never before, as a Speaker, Worship Leader, Songwriter, Coach, and Inspirational Pop Recording Artist.
What started as almost a clean sweep of nearly 50 pageant victories from age seven in a small Texas town quickly evolved into seven seasons in Orlando on the Disney Channel’s wildly popular The All-New Mickey Mouse Club in the late ‘80s well into the ‘90s, which Jennifer describes as a sort of “‘Saturday Night Live’ for kids” featuring interviews, skits, variety show-styled razzle dazzle, and of course, loads of singing. A quick internet search shows her performing alongside a slew of internationally renowned stars, and throughout a real time conversation, she just as casually mentions how Michael Jackson used to visit the set as a major fan of their show or the time when Celine Dion helped calm her nerves prior to an inauguration performance for President Bill Clinton at the Kennedy Center.
Noel Lee – Noel Lee is an American engineer, inventor, and businessman. He is the founder and CEO of Monster Inc. Lee graduated from California Polytechnic State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and subsequently did work in laser fusion for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
Monster Cable Products, Inc. was founded in 1979 by Noel Lee, who was then a laser-fusion design engineer at Lawrence-Livermore Laboratory, as well as an audiophile and professional drummer. Lee discovered that wires of different constructions produced varying degrees of audio performance when hooked up to loudspeakers. From this discovery, he developed a high performance speaker cable, named it Monster Cable, and literally created an industry. The invention of Monster Cable created a new product category that revolutionized the audio market. Prior to Monster Cable, most stereo systems were wired with ordinary “zip-cord,” the same cable used for electrical household and lamp wire. Their inferior construction and cheap materials restricts power, dynamic range and clarity in the lows, mids, and highs.
Lee chose the name “Monster” because it sounded strong and powerful. It became an immediate hit with consumers. In fact, the name Monster Cable is so synonymous with high quality and high performance, customers often assume that any cable they purchase in reputable stores would be Monster even though there are other cable brands.
Vicky Schettini – Vicki is a Real Estate Investor, Entrepreneur, Coach, and Founder of WIT Property Finders. Before doing real estate, she worked as a manager for a retail store. During this time, she was literally working pay check to pay check. She had a lot of bills to pay and needs to buy. There came one night when she had to pay bills but only had $25 left. She was so broke she couldn’t even afford to have a flat tire fixed. She knew she had to do something about it. In November 2014, she moved across the country to Jackson, Mississippi. She started talking to people and went deeper into real estate investment. In less than 4 years, she was able to acquire 60 houses in different areas of where she was located.
Kara Scott – The TLC brand is built on the same principles from our basement beginnings.
